There’s no doubt that a majority of people want to be fit and get in shape.
If you’re one of these people then there’s an important thing you have to ask yourself before you make your weightloss journey.
What’s your reasoning behind it?
If you’re looking to get in shape purely for vanity reasons, then I’m afraid you’re doing it for the wrong reasons. A life change, such as this one, requires looking within yourself and mapping out what you really want to achieve in life.
If you want to get in shape, it has to start from you loving yourself. Loving who you are and what you’re all about. Accept your life for what it was, what it is and what it’s going to be.
Everyone has different reasons for getting in shape, but I personally think that people who want to get in shape just so they can fit into smaller pant sizes, or look good at the beach are lacking an important element to their livelihood.
The love they have for themselves.
They care more about what other people think about them and how they’re perceived that “image” becomes more of a priority rather than trying to discover true health.
I think that’s also why a lot of people fail when it comes to getting into shape. They make that New Year’s Resolution and make that devotion to get in shape for the summer.
Then what happens?
Come the second week of January and they already fell off the wagon. If you truly loved yourself, it wouldn’t matter if it was New Year’s or whatever season of the year. You’ll have a realistic understating and respect for your body that you’re going to want to get in shape “unconditionally”.
We’re all capable of doing amazing things in our lives and it all starts in the mind and heart. Love yourself, love your body and love your life.
